My friends and I and our 7 kids took picnic lunches up to Coronado Heights today, and I was hoping to see some early signs of spring - a wildflower or two, a bug, something to assure me that spring is really happening! But instead, at the bottom of the hill, I looked up and noticed that they had recently burned the hillsides, and everything was charred. My heart just fell, and realized I will have to be yet a little more patient for spring. I know the burn will make it all come back better and healthier, it is just hard to wait. I do think this view is incredible, even in shades of brown, and I am glad to have a hill in Kansas at all, where I can look out and get a tiny, tiny glimpse of how grand God is.Wednesday, March 18, 2009
