moment in time

As I sat on the lake shore with Alli this afternoon, I thanked God for that very moment in time.

At that very moment, my kids were all healthy and safe, exploring the shore line with their dad, finding anything and everything to be happy about.

At that very moment, Alli was sitting safely by me, enjoying the warm breeze, playing quietly in the sand.

At that very moment, my cell phone was in the car, my laptop was at home, and if news of war or injustice or recession was being reported on the airwaves, it had no chance of reaching me.

At that very moment, my husband loved me. We had a place to call home. Provision in the checking account. Two cars that run. Breath in our lungs, friends to share life with, and a God to commune with.

With everything in me, I appreciated the moment God was giving me right then. Life is tumultuous. It can change in a second. We're not in control as much as we wish we were.

So that's why I recorded thirty seconds of that moment in time. To remember just how good our God is to lead us beside the still waters and restore our souls.
