I left Jamie with the kids this morning and went for a walk at Sunset Park. It was chilly and cloudy, but it was still nice to get out into the fresh air and enjoy a change of scenery. It's amazing how our recent study of birds made me so much more aware of their sounds. I was able to identify them without even seeing them. I like that about nature study, that it makes me feel so much more awake and aware of my surroundings. After my walk, I was able to snap a couple of pictures of things springing to life.

This is a better picture of moss capsules than the one I posted last week. This moss is growing on the side of a water fountain in the middle of the park. I'm afraid it's a little blurry, but these capsules are so much bigger than the ones before. It's so strange, I've been a nature nut all my life, and this is the first time I've ever seen moss do this. Makes me wonder what other magical things are awaiting my discovery!
